The formation, directed and founded in 2017 by Annalisa Pellegrini, is constituted as a choral ensemble of maximum 16 elements. Made up of singers trained at the Civica Scuola delle Arti in Rome, the
formation performed in important Italian locations including the Conciliazione Auditorium in Rome, the Aula Magna of the Sapienza University, the Basilica of Santa Maria in Ara Coeli in Campidoglio, the church of
Santa Maria dei Miracoli in Piazza del Popolo in Rome, the Auditorium of the Goethe Institut in Rome, the Church of Santa Trinita in Florence. The RomEnsemble boasts a rare repertoire focused on Ancient Music and
Sacred Music. The group is often a guest at the Festival Federico Cesi – Musica Urbis and at the Choir Winter Fest and protagonist of first performances or modern re-editions: in 2011 the Choir closed the celebrations of the Menotti Year at the Caio Melisso Theater in Spoleto (PG) with the staging of Chip and His Dog by Giancarlo Menotti, opera for soloists, choir of voices apparently and piano for the International Festival
Spoleto Piano School and in 2013, as part of the “Les Jour de France à Rome” event, he performed the first performance of Francois Laurent’s opera Italique for narrator, soloists, and voice choir
apparently, plucked ensemble and percussion. The formation boasts collaborations with chapel singers Musicale Pontificia Sistina with which he made videos and recordings of polyphonic repertoire including the
world first performance of unpublished manuscripts from the library collection of the Cappella Giulia in Rome composed by Giovanni Battista Costanzi and Antonio Boroni in the 18th century.
In May 2019, the RomEnsemble Choir and the Youth Choir of the Civic School of the Arts took part in the LIFE project that saw them protagonists of the Concert There Was a Child at the Berlin Philharmonie together with the Berliner Philarmoniker conducted by Maestro Simon Halsey. The ensemble also collaborates with the French Orchestra Via Luce for whom they have performed the concerts Mozartiade and Verba Mea (From the Gregorian to the Roman 700s: the great Sacred Music Italian) in Paris and Prague for the Italian Cultural Institute. For contemporary repertoire, the ensemble has collaborated with international artists such as electronic music singer Dillon, performing at the Parco della
Music in Rome. In 2022, in collaboration with AMAT LAB in Florence, they performed the operina Paris, a nous deux! by Jean Francaix for soloists, choir and 4 saxes. The ensemble is dedicated to the piece And the stars look
different, today by Pasquale Citera for voice, choir, saxophone quartet and live electronics. Also directed by M°Annalisa Pellegrini the RomEnsemble boasts an important repertoire on the music of the Italian 700s by
composers such as Vivaldi, Carissimi, Pergolesi and works on unpublished repertoire by female composers such as Suor Isabella Leonarda, performing in the last year with said repertoire at the Auditorium of the Banca d’Italia in Rome,
in Spello as part of the Federico Cesi Festival, in Cortona for the 2024 edition of the Choralia.0 Festival and has participated in the Leonardo Leo Baroque Festival in Apulia performing a concert dedicated to music
composed in Italian women’s convents in the 1700s. In addition, in collaboration with the instrumental ensemble Russian Baroque Chapel “Golden Age,” RomEnsemble performed in St. Petersburg, Russia, with the Concert Masterpieces of the Italian Baroque at Jaani Kirik and with the Concert The Magic of the Italian Baroque Italian at the very prestigious Maltese Chapel of the Vorontsov Palace.
