Quartetto Polifonico Romano

ROMAN POLYPHONIC QUARTET is an ensemble born from the shared passion of four musicians for sacred music. Each member has deepened their studies, knowledge, and experiences in this field.
The quartet is actively engaged in a vibrant concert schedule. As a guest performer at events organized by prestigious institutions, associations and festivals, it has recently taken part in the 20th Concert Season of the University of Tuscia with the concert entitled “Gli amorosi sensi”.

Annalisa Pellegrini, holding a degree in Choral Conducting and with diplomas in piano, operatic singing and Baroque singing, specializes in Early Music and Sacred Music, having sung for Popes John Paul II, Benedict XVI, and Francis. As a researcher, she was the first woman to have access to the musical archives of the Cappella Giulia in Rome and published the essay “The musical production of the Cappella Giulia in the second half of the 18th century (between sacred and secular music)” for the Colligite Fragmenta series.

Roberto Colavalle, already a singer in the Pueri Cantores of the Sistine Chapel as a child, returned to the Pontifical Sistine Chapel Music as a tenor altus after passing the audition with Maestro Domenico Bartolucci. He performs as a tenor altus and countertenor in Moscow, Prague, Turin, Rome, Malta, and Gozo. He sang the solo countertenor part in Leonard Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms under the direction of Maestro Joseph Vella. He is a soloist in the CD “Cantate Domino” of the Sistine Chapel Choir, produced by Deutsche Grammophon, and participates in countless productions of sacred music.

Raimundo Pereira Martinez, born in Caracas in 1972, studied Choral Conducting, Singing, Piano, Composition, and Traditional Music of Venezuela in his home country. In 1995 he won a scholarship from the Venezuelan government and moved to Rome where he continued his studies at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music. Since 2001 he has been a singer in the Sistine Chapel and often participates in pontifical liturgies as a psalmist. He also works as a choir director.

Marzio Montebello was introduced to choral activity as an accompanist and later as an assistant conductor of children’s and mixed choirs. From there he began his career as a singer, involved in choirs, chamber groups, and both stable and project-based ensembles, collaborating in several cases as an assistant and substitute conductor. He has held the position of Chapel Master and has experience as a continuo player for instrumental ensembles. He dedicated himself to the study and practice of basso continuo at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music under the guidance of Federico Del Sordo. At the PIMS he obtained a “baccalaureate” in Choral Conducting. Since 2022 he has directed the choir of the Dopolavoro ferroviario of Rome.
