Teatro Clitunno

This theater was built in 1875 by Domenico Mollajoli and opened officially in 1877 with an opera by Gaetano Donizzetti “Maria di Rohan”. The backdrop of the stage is characterized by the beautiful painting representing Calligola offering sacrifices to Clitunno by Domenico Bruschi. This is a a miniature theater that for over a century was the center social life of the city. The city of Trevi purchased the theater and after an extensive renovation between 1987 – 1993, today Teatro Clitunno hosts important major cultural events.
