OIR is a youth orchestra conceived by Maestro Antonio Pantaneschi, who has been its permanent director since 2009. It performes all year long, and the members of the orchestra are all graduated in music and active performers also as soloist.In recent years, the Orchestra has performed the most demanding symphonic repertoire, also touching the main sacred oratories, concerts with great soloists, opera and film music, performing in important theaters, halls, auditoriums, churches and basilicas. The OIR project is curated by the Fabrica Harmonica Association and is integrated into the activities of the Civic School of Arts, International Academy of Music in Rome. Since 2013 the Orchestra has been permanently employed in the programming of the Federico Cesi Musica Urbis Festival, where it performed in stage form Mozart’s “Cosi fan tutti”, “L’Italiana in Algeri” by G. Rossini and “La Traviata” by G. Verdi, also collaborating with prestigious soloists including Bruno Canino, Vadim Brodski, Franco Mezzena, Eliseo Smordoni. In 2016 he inaugurated his own stable season in Rome at the Ghione Theater with great success. In 2017, the OIR was at the center of the Soloists with Orchestra project, winner of the SIAE Sillumina tender, for the realization of which 14 different solo titles with orchestra were studied and performed in concert in just 4 months. The OIR takes part in record production projects (the complete violin Concerts by A. Rolla with Gabriele Pieranunzi as soloist are being worked on), radio or television aimed at affirming its name and consolidating its level and, in certain details occasions, collaborates with artists of different backgrounds also in others in music fields.
